25 de nov. de 2022 · Robert Gordon died of acute myeloid leukemia on Oct. 18. He was 75. In Gordon’s final days, Spedding didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to his musical partner, but he passed along his love through friends. “He did actually tell me the dreaded news — that he had leukemia,” Spedding reflects.
Gordon on tour with Chris Spedding in Japan, 1993. Record producer Richard Gottehrer discovered Gordon during a rehearsal one afternoon with Tuff Darts and soon afterward the two were talking about making a rock and roll record. Gottehrer was impressed with Gordon's voice and his rendition of Elvis Presley's "One Night".

Spedding moved to New York City, joined the Necessaries as a guitarist and songwriter, collaborated with drummer/percussionist David Van Tieghem, and worked extensively with Robert Gordon. Before long he was back in the UK and recorded another album of his own, I'm Not Like Everybody Else (1980). [1]
