Lake of Tears is a Swedish heavy metal band originally formed in 1994, generally considered to play gothic metal/gothic rock and doom metal. However, their sound has expanded to include psychedelic rock and progressive rock elements.
Lake of Tears first came together in 1992 when Daniel Brennare, Jonas Eriksson, and Mikael Larsson left the death metal band they were playing in and hooked up with Johan Oudhuis. A double tribute album to Lake of Tears was released in 2012, titled Twenty Years in Tears.
