5 de abr. de 2016 · Jonathan Richman will forever be best known, among a certain perennial segment of cool kids, for The Modern Lovers, a collection of disowned demo tapes by his teenage rock band that, depending who you ask, possibly maybe invented punk music. 2016 happens to mark the 40th anniversary of that record’s 1976 release (although it was recorded several years earlier.)
Jonathan Michael Richman [1] (born May 16, 1951) [2] is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. In 1970, he founded the Modern Lovers, an influential proto-punk band. Since the mid-1970s, Richman has worked either solo or with low-key acoustic and electric backing.
