22 de may. de 2024 · Grizzly bear, common name for a brown bear belonging to the subspecies Ursus arctos horribilis. It is a massive animal with humped shoulders and an elevated forehead. The fur is brownish to buff, and the hairs are usually silver- or pale-tipped to give the grizzled effect for which it is named.
Grizzly bears are large and range in color from very light tan (almost white) to dark brown. They have a dished face, short, rounded ears, and a large shoulder hump. The hump is where a mass of muscles attach to the bear’s backbone and give the bear additional strength for digging.
