Basic Types of Stingrays. Bat Rays. This is a type of eagle ray that is usually located in sandy or muddy sloughs, as well as kelp beds, bays and estuaries, and even the rocky-bottom shoreline in the eastern part of the Pacific Ocean. They can also be found around the Galapagos Islands.
