Amanda Krueger is a fictional character in the Nightmare on Elm Street series of movies. She is the mother of Freddy Krueger, the paternal grandmother of Margaret Burroughs, and also the mother-in-law of Loretta Krueger, and was played by Nan Martin in the third film and Beatrice Boepple in the fifth. She may be the same person as Sister Mary.
She was also the mother of Freddy Krueger. Amanda appeared in Dream Warriors and The Dream Child. Amanda appeared as a spirit who was locked inside the infamous tower of the Hathaway House, and was also one of the few A Nightmare on Elm Street characters that could both defeat and control Freddy.

The character of Amanda Krueger, a nun who was raped at an asylum and later gave birth to Freddy, was previously played by Nan Martin in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Boepple plays a younger version of the same character but found the birth sequence difficult as she was on her period.
