Albert Vinicio Báez (Puebla, México, 15 de noviembre de 1912 - Redwood City, California, Estados Unidos, 20 de marzo de 2007) fue un científico mexicano nacionalizado estadounidense con Doctor en Física. Es además, el padre de la artista y cantante Joan Baez y tío del matemático estadounidense y divulgador científico John Baez.
Albert Vinicio Báez (/ ˈ b aɪ. ɛ z / BY-ez, [citation needed] Spanish: [biˈnisjo ˈβaes]; November 15, 1912 – March 20, 2007) was a Mexican-American physicist and the father of singers Joan Baez and Mimi Fariña, and an uncle of John C. Baez.

He was a physicist who played a leading role in UNESCO’s efforts to support science education globally. His research in the physics of light led to the development of an X-ray microscope and of imaging optics.
