STATUS. COMPLETED. SHARE. Sjakket Youth Club is situated in Copenhagen’s Nordvest neighborhood, densely populated with old industrial buildings and contemporary housing. In 2004, when BIG and JDS were hired to convert the building, the area was mainly populated by lower income households and immigrant families.

Designed by Plot, that later became @big_builds and @jdsarchitects. It's a social activity space, creating a community for many immigrants in this diverse area.
Sjakket serves as a community centre to mainly immigrant youth, and as such it serves a significant role in the area, because it keeps the troublemakers off the street and activates and educates them.
