On March 8, 2021, MGM updated their 97-year-old lion logo with CGI, in contrast to the real lions used previously. This is the first major update to the logo since 1957. Despite the new on-screen logo being introduced, it uses the monogram wordmark rather than a print logo like the other preceded logos.
A low-budget rendition of the MGM logo fades in, but the lion, instead of roaring, belches and appears disinterested (in the teaser trailer, it is stated that the lion is heavily intoxicated from Doug giving it all of their beer).
