8. solocollection. • 10 yr. ago. Kaichou wa Maid-sama would be one of the best RomComs out there. I don't know what you consier as overused cliches but I guess some are unavoidable. Don't expect something you have never seen before out of this series. Cliches happen in every RomCom.
Plus she has always seen boys as a negative and a factor that would ruin the schools reputation. It didn’t matter who the guy was, she was already capable of doing everything and was “complete”. The appeal is usui finding her weaknesses and exploiting this to make her fall in love and change her opinions on males.
