Herbert William Trimpe (/ t r ɪ m p /; May 26, 1939 – April 13, 2015) was an American comics artist and occasional writer, best known as the seminal 1970s artist on The Incredible Hulk and as the first artist to draw for publication the character Wolverine, who later became a breakout star of the X-Men.

Herbert "Herb" Trimpe is an American comic-book artist and occasional writer, best remembered for his work on The Incredible Hulk in the early 1970s. Trimpe joined Marvel Comics in 1967 and stayed there until 1996.
