Lionel LeMoine FitzGerald L.L. D. also known as L. L. FitzGerald (March 17, 1890 – August 5, 1956) was a Canadian artist and art educator. He was the only member of the Group of Seven based in western Canada. He worked almost exclusively in Manitoba.

22 de may. de 2008 · Lionel LeMoine FitzGerald. Lionel LeMoine FitzGerald, painter (b at Winnipeg 17 Mar 1890; d there 7 Aug 1956). FitzGerald spent almost his whole life in Winnipeg painting, drawing and sketching quiet contemplative scenes. He trained in Winnipeg, Pittsburgh and NY.
Lionel LeMoine FitzGerald’s work has come to epitomize the prairie landscape experience. He is the artist who perfected the quintessential Western Canadian look of land, sky, trees, and, most importantly, the penetrating, intense light. This led him to be invited by the Group of Seven to become their tenth member.
L.L. (Lionel LeMoine) FitzGerald was an accomplished draftsman, painter, printmaker and art educator. His subjects arose from his detailed observations of nature in Winnipeg and Manitoba, where he worked throughout his life.
