Plot. The series centers on young intern Dr. James Kildare ( Mark Jenkins) working at the fictional large metropolitan "Blair General Hospital" and trying to learn his profession, deal with patients' problems, and win the respect of the senior Dr. Leonard Gillespie ( Gary Merrill ).
