Richard Keith Herring (born 12 July 1967) is an English stand-up comedian and writer whose early work includes the comedy double act Lee and Herring (alongside Stewart Lee). He is described by The British Theatre Guide as "one of the leading hidden masters of modern British comedy".

Richard Herring was born on 12 July 1967 in Yorkshire, England, UK. He is a writer and producer, known for Time Gentlemen Please (2000), You Can Choose Your Friends (2007) and This Morning with Richard Not Judy (1998). He has been married to Catie Wilkins since 7 April 2012. They have two children.
Wednesday 3rd July 2024. 7877/20818. It's 21 years since I last gigged in Carlisle. Back in 2003, Carlisle became a symbol of the lack of interest in me in most smaller towns. The gig was postponed already, possibly for floods, possibly because so few people turned up and when I finally did the gig I was playing to 50 people.
