Oliver Smithies (Halifax, West Yorkshire, Inglaterra, 23 de junio de 1925-Chapel Hill (Carolina del Norte), Estados Unidos), 10 de enero de 2017) [1] fue un genetista británico, cogalardonado con el Premio Nobel de Medicina y Fisiología del año 2007, acreditado por el descubrimiento de la electroforesis en 1950.
