Christian Rätsch (* 20. April 1957 in Hamburg; [1] † 17. September 2022 in Kißlegg) war ein deutscher Altamerikanist und Ethnologe. Sein Fachgebiet war die Erforschung des ethnomedizinischen und rituellen Gebrauches von Pflanzen und Pilzen, insbesondere der kulturellen Nutzung psychoaktiver Pflanzen und Pilze im Schamanismus .
Christian Rätsch (20 April 1957 – 17 September 2022) was a German anthropologist and writer on topics like ethnopharmacology, psychoactive plants and animals. Life. Rätsch was born in 1957 in a Bohemian community in Hamburg, Germany. His father was an opera singer, his mother a ballet dancer.

Rätsch se dedicó profesionalmente a investigar la historia y propiedades de las especies psicoactivas, y su uso por parte de culturas indígenas, y publicó numerosos libros al respecto.
