Grace Pearl Ingalls Dow (/ ˈ ɪ ŋ ɡ əl z ˈ d aʊ /; May 23, 1877, in Burr Oak, Iowa – November 10, 1941, in Manchester, South Dakota) was the fifth and last child of Caroline and Charles Ingalls. She was the youngest sister of Laura Ingalls Wilder, known for her Little House on the Prairie books.
Grace Pearl Ingalls is the youngest child of Charles and Caroline Ingalls, and their last biological child. When Caroline first told Charles that she was pregnant, he hoped for a boy and Caroline feared how Charles would react if the child was a girl.

Although Laura Ingalls Wilder introduced sister Grace in By the Shores of Silver Lake (which implies that she was born in Walnut Grove, Minnesota), Grace was born during the Ingalls’ stay in Burr Oak, a period of time which was omitted from Wilder’s Little House series.
