Denis Mukwege ( Bukavu, 1 de marzo de 1955) es un médico ginecólogo y activista congoleño. Fundó y trabaja en el Hospital Panzi en Bukavu, donde se especializa en el tratamiento de las mujeres que han sido violadas por las fuerzas rebeldes durante la guerra de Kivu y posteriores conflictos desarrollados en la República Democrática del Congo.

Denis Mukwege (/ m ʊ k ˈ w eɪ ɡ i /; born 1 March 1955) is a Congolese gynecologist and Pentecostal pastor. He founded and works in Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, where he specializes in the treatment of women who have been raped by armed rebels.
Mukwege has become one of the world’s leading experts on the treatment of internal injuries suffered by women subjected to gang rape. He has carried out countless operations, working long days of up to 18 hours.
En quince años, más de 40 000 mujeres, víctimas de violencia extrema, han sido atendidas por el hospital de Panzi, fundado por el doctor Denis Mukwege en 1999, en la República Democrática del Congo (RDC).
