Vittorio Jano (en húngaro, János Viktor) (22 de abril de 1891 – 13 de marzo de 1965) fue un diseñador de automóviles italiano. Ligado inicialmente a Fiat y después a Alfa Romeo, Lancia y Ferrari; entre finales de los años 1920 y los 1960 concibió los motores de numerosos vehículos de competición y de carretera.
Vittorio Jano ( Hungarian: János Viktor; 22 April 1891 – 13 March 1965) was an Italian automobile designer of Hungarian descent from the 1920s through 1960s. Jano was born Viktor János in San Giorgio Canavese, in Piedmont, to Hungarian immigrants, who arrived there several years earlier.

Originally from San Giorgio Canavese, in the province of Turin, Jano graduated from the Istituto Professionale Operaio and entered Fiat in 1911 as a mechanical designer of racing cars under Giulio Cesare Cappa.

22 de abr. de 2016 · Vittorio Jano, born on 22 April, 1891, is recognised as one of the greatest engine designers in motor racing history, the man behind the engines for Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Ferrari from the 1920s to the 1960s.
Jano was the key player in the development of Ferrari’s V6 and V8 engines. Sadly, Jano fell ill in 1965 and, following the death of his son that same year, took his own life.
