Satpal Maharaj (born Satpal Singh Rawat, 21 September 1951) is an Indian spiritual guru turned politician. He is a national executive member of the BJP. Currently, he serves as the tourism, cultural, and irrigation minister in the cabinet of the Government of Uttarakhand.
On the eve of Bharat Jago Padayatra in 1983 Satpal Maharaj Ji in a friendly gesture invited viewpoints from some of the Padayatris on the idea of having an independent hill state comprising of Garhwal and Kumaon and its viability.
