Nathan Farragut Twining (/ ˈ t w aɪ n ɪ ŋ / TWY-ning; October 11, 1897 – March 29, 1982) was a United States Air Force general. He was the chief of Staff of the United States Air Force from 1953 [2] until 1957, and the third chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1957 to 1960.
