Scott Colley (born November 24, 1963) is an American jazz double bassist and composer. He has performed in bands led by Herbie Hancock, T. S. Monk (jazz drummer), Jim Hall, Andrew Hill, Michael Brecker, Chris Potter, Pat Metheny, Carmen McRae, Edward Simon, Adam Rogers, Brian Blade, David Binney, Antonio Sanchez, and Kenny Werner .

31 de may. de 2024 · Scott Colley is one of the first call bassists on the modern jazz scene, having played with everyone from Andrew Hill to Chris Potter. On this album he is joined by a first class unit consisting of Ralph Alessi on trumpet, Bill Frisell on guitar, Craig Taborn on piano and Brian Blade on drums.
Scott Colley, an in-demand sideman, also gained recognition for his important work as a leader. The Los Angeles-born bassist studied jazz and composition at the California Institute for the Arts, graduated in 1988, and relocated to New York.
