Värttinä (En finés signífica huso) es un grupo de música folk finlandesa formado por Sari y Mari Kaasinen en la ciudad de Rääkkylä a principios de 1983. Desde ese momento la banda ha sufrido muchos cambios. Värttinä saltó a la fama en 1991 con su disco Oi Dai.
Värttinä are the Crown Jewel of Finnish folk music scene. Their roots are in the Karelia Region of Finland, specifically in women's vocal traditions. Värttinä’s trademark are their Razor-Sharp harmonies sung by powerful Leading Ladies. The band begun as a children’s project in the village of Rääkkylä near the Russian border.
