The Capitol City Dusters (also known as The Dusters) were an American post hardcore band formed in Washington, D.C. in 1996. The group's 1998 debut album combined elements of the hardcore punk movement in D.C., as well as sentiments reminiscent of the first wave of punk music.

"D.C. bands Burning Airlines, the Dismemberment Plan, the Farewell Bend, Most Secret Method, and the Capitol City Dusters don't only appear on the disc, but are the main highlights of it. No other region of the country is home to more than three of the 15 bands on the disc.
The Dusters (also known as The Capitol City Dusters) were formed in 1996 by Alec Bourgeois (ex-Severin) and Ben Azzara (ex-Junction, Delta 72). The band played with several bass players before Jesse Quitslund (ex-Vile Cherubs) locked down the position for good in 1998.
