Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film (2005) Robert "Bobby" Houston (born 1955) is an American filmmaker and actor. He made his acting debut in The Hills Have Eyes (1977) before becoming a film director and screenwriter. His films include Shogun Assassin (1980) and Bad Manners (1984).
Robert Houston is a filmmaker who won an Oscar for his documentary Mighty Times: The Children's March. He also starred in Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes and directed Shogun Assassin and Growing Pains.

His previous film, Mighty Times: The Legacy of Rosa Parks (2002), was nominated for an Academy Award in 2003 and won an Emmy.
