Andrew Carnegie. Empresario americano (Dunfermline, Escocia, 1835 - Lennox, Massachusetts, 1919). Procedía de una familia pobre que emigró a Estados Unidos en 1848. Tuvo una educación autodidacta, al tiempo que se ganaba la vida en oficios duros e iba ahorrando para adquirir participaciones en pequeños negocios de su ciudad, Pittsburgh.
