Sydney Michelle McLaughlin-Levrone ( née McLaughlin; born August 7, 1999) is an American hurdler and sprinter who competes in the 400 meters hurdles. She is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic champion with the Games record, and 2022 World champion with a world record time of 50.68 seconds.

Set a junior world record in the 400-meter hurdles at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, breaking the previous mark set by Leslie Maxie in 1984. Named the 2015-16 Gatorade Girls National High School Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
McLaughlin beat Muhammad at the Olympic Trials, clocking 51.90 to break her rival's world record. And it was McLaughlin who came out on top again in Japan, running 51.46 to make more history. The pair then joined forces to help the United States win gold in the women's 4x400m relay.
