Red Kelly. Leonard Patrick " Red " Kelly CM (July 9, 1927 – May 2, 2019) was a Canadian professional hockey player and coach. He was also a Liberal Member of Parliament for the Toronto-area riding of York West from 1962 to 1965, during which time he also won the Stanley Cup —twice—while actively playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Red Kelly was a Hall of Fame defenseman who played 1316 games in the NHL from 1947 to 1967. He won eight Stanley Cups, four Lady Byng Trophies, and one Norris Trophy with the Detroit Red Wings.
