Ryan Matterson (born 13 October 1994) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a second-rower or lock forward for the Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League (NRL). He started his career as a five-eighth before moving permanently to the back row when he joined the Wests Tigers .

Ryan Matterson is an Eels junior and re-joined the Club in 2020 after stints at the Roosters and Wests Tigers. Matterson played his junior rugby league for the Wentworthville Magpies and Bankstown Bulls.

Ryan Matterson is a second row player for Parramatta Eels 9s in the NRL Nines competition. He played for Sydney Roosters 9s in 2017 and has scored one try in four games for Eels 9s in 2020.
