Nicky Daniel Bacon (November 25, 1945 – July 17, 2010) was a United States Army first sergeant from the Americal Division who served during the Vietnam War. For his actions in combat in Tam Ky, Vietnam, Bacon was awarded America's highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor .
Sir Nicholas Bacon (born 1510, Drinkstone, Suffolk, Eng.—died Feb. 20, 1579, London) was a high official in the government of Queen Elizabeth I and father of the renowned philosopher Francis Bacon. Admitted to the bar in 1533, Bacon was made attorney of the court of wards and liveries in 1546.
