Rutland Barrington (15 January 1853 – 31 May 1922) was an English singer, actor, comedian and Edwardian musical comedy star. Best remembered for originating the lyric baritone roles in the Gilbert and Sullivan operas from 1877 to 1896, his performing career spanned more than four decades.

Rutland Barrington continued to perform in London and in the provinces until 1918. He suffered a paralytic stroke in January 1919, and died in poverty in 1922 at the Battersea Workhouse Infirmary.
