The 76-year-old is a familiar face on television, having starred in more than 300 dramas in his 38 years with the Hong Kong broadcaster. He left TVB in 2020 following a 50 per cent pay cut, which made it difficult for him to get by.
Lau Kong is a Hongkongese actor and a former contracted artist of TVB. Lau left Hong Kong for Taiwan to study acting before completing primary school. Originally trained in Peking opera, Lau, at the age of 12, learned about auditions being held in Hong Kong by the Taiwan Peking Opera School.
