27 de ene. de 2016 · At the end of the decade, Forti and Morris moved east. In New York, she began developing the pieces she eventually called Dance Constructions: dances based around ordinary movement, chance, and simple objects like rope and plywood boards.
Simone Forti is a dancer, artist, and writer based in Los Angeles. Her early Dance Constructions were influential in the reinvention of dance that took place in New York in the 1960s and ’70s.

Made of inexpensive materials such as plywood and rope, the sculptures prompt ordinary actions, including climbing, leaning, standing, or whistling, giving these gestures focused attention.
