Vidna Obmana (stylized vidnaObmana on many album covers) is a pseudonym used by Belgian composer and ambient musician Dirk Serries. The name Vidna Obmana, a phrase in Serbian, literally translates to "optical illusion" and was chosen by Serries because he felt it accurately described the music.
Vidna Obmana, once an insider tip on the Belgian underground, had turned into something of an international brand. Serries could either have simply repeated the golden formula, intensified his live presence or added subtle variations to his soundscapes.

Vidna Obmana, the project of Belgium-born Dirk Serries, practiced electronic soundpainting on the ambient trilogy begun with Passage In Beauty (1991), but Echoing Delight (1993) shifted the emphasis towards spiritual and tribal evocations.
