Truth Walks in Sleepy Shadows was produced by Greg Freeman and SF Seals. It was less of a band effort than the debut, and more of a Barbara Manning solo effort. Eleven musicians played on the album, which showcased a version of psychedelic music. It includes covers of John Cale, Faust, and Pretty Things songs.

It’s probably the most fun record Manning’s made. The second SF Seals album, Truth Walks in Sleepy Shadows, boasts eleven musicians, including a core group of Manning, Clarin, guitarist Brently Pusser (of Three Day Stubble) and bassist Margaret Murray (of U.S. Saucer).

I felt like I finally had a productive, fun working band with melanie clarin, brently pusser, margaret murray as the sf seals.

I’ve really done a deep dive into your discography over the past few weeks and especially Truth Walks In Sleepy Shadows, that record just feels like Haight Street to me. The artwork, the light psychedelia, it just feels very much of that place and what it is like to be there.
