He has drummed with several bands including the Hitmen (1979–84), New Christs (1983–84), the Screaming Tribesmen (1984) and Hoodoo Gurus (1984–98, 2003–15).

Back in 1998, still at the peak of their prowess and popularity, Faulkner and his fellow Gurus – guitarist Brad Shepherd, bassist Rick Grossman and drummer Mark Kingsmill – decided it was time to call it a day and broke up the band.

23 de ene. de 2015 · Long-time drummer for the Hoodoo Gurus, Mark Kingsmill is set to retire from the band, with the outfit admitting they contemplated breaking up as a result. The Aussie rock stalwarts confirmed the news yesterday on their Facebook, revealing that the drummer, who has been with the band for 30 years, will officially retire at the end of March.
