[1] The group formed in 1980 with members Pat DiNizio (vocals & guitar), Jim Babjak (guitar & vocals ), Mike Mesaros (bass guitar & vocals ), and Dennis Diken (drums & percussion).

  3. In 1997, when Mesaros couldn’t make a Smithereens gig in San Diego, Severo Jornacion of Los Angeles was called upon to handle bass duties. Occasional fill-in opportunities followed, and when Mesaros decided to retire from the band, the energetic Jornacion — nicknamed “The Thrilla” — became a full-time member around late 2005/early 2006.

The event took place at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, on Saturday, January 13, 2018.
