Danger—Human is a collection of science fiction stories by Gordon R. Dickson. It was first published by Doubleday in 1970. It was subsequently published by DAW Books, in 1973, as The Book of Gordon Dickson.

Danger -- Human! is a short story by author Gordon R. Dickson. In the past, so far in the past that the history is sketchy and based mostly off legends, there is a tale of an ancient warmongering race of aliens who have attempted to conquer the known universe on three seperate occasions.
DANGER—HUMAN. The spaceboat came down in the silence of perfect working order—down through the cool, dark night of a New Hampshire late spring. There was hardly any moon and the path emerging from the clump of conifers and snaking its way across the dim pasture looked like a long strip of pale cloth, carelessly dropped and forgotten there.

1 de ene. de 1970 · Gordon R. Dickson is perhaps best known for his Dorsai series, but some of his best work was his short fiction. The Book of Gordon R. Dickson (also published under the title of Danger, Human!) is a strong collection of his work from the 1950s and first half of the 1960s.
The various alien species of the galaxy have records reaching back to a particular point in history, where a terrible catastrophe whose nature is now lost to the ages wiped out nearly everything. The only surviving records include a map indicating Earth with the note indicating extreme danger.
