At the turn of the 21st century, brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson (sons of producer Jim Dickinson) with then-bassist Chris Chew issued Shake Hands with Shorty as the North Mississippi Allstars. The set presented an energetic new read on the music of their Hill Country region -- Delta blues, bluegrass, hip-hop, funk, ragtime, and rockabilly.
