George John Charles Mercer Nairne Petty-Fitzmaurice, 8th Marquess of Lansdowne, DL (27 November 1912 – 25 August 1999), was a British peer and Conservative politician.
He was the son of Major Lord Charles George Francis Mercer Nairne Petty-Fitzmaurice (1874–1914), second son of the fifth Marquess. Born George John Charles Mercer Nairne, he assumed by Decree of the Lord Lyon the additional surnames of Petty-Fitzmaurice in 1947.
George John Charles Mercer Nairne Petty-Fitzmaurice, 8 th Marquis of Lansdowne (1912-1999). George was a soldier and Conservative politician. He was the only son of Lord Charles Mercer Nairne, second son of the 5 th Marquess and first cousin of the 7 th Marquess.

King George V was sponsor at the Marquess' baptism. Educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford, Petty-Fitzmaurice was a Major in the Royal Scots Greys, and formerly 2nd Lieutenant in the Scottish Horse (Territorial Army).
