Prince Konstanty Adam Czartoryski (born 28 October 1777 – 24 April 1866) was a Polish nobleman who became colonel in 1809 in the Duchy of Warsaw and brigadier general in 1815 in Congress Poland. He commanded the 2nd battalion of grenadiers and 17th battalion of line infantry in the Duchy of Warsaw.
The Czartoryski family is of Lithuanian descent from Ruthenia. [8] Their ancestor, a grandson of Gediminas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, became known with his baptismal name Constantine (c. 1330−1390) - he became a Prince of Chortoryisk in Volhynia. [9]
