The University of California, Santa Barbara (UC Santa Barbara or UCSB) is a public land-grant research university in Santa Barbara County, California, United States. It is part of the University of California university system.
The University of California, Santa Barbara is currently home to five colleges, offers more than 200 majors, degrees and credentials, and in 2012 had an enrollment of over 21,000 students with a faculty size of almost 1,000. Below is a timeline describing some major changes of our campus.
Alexei V. Filippenko Professor of Astronomy. B.A. (Physics), 1979, University of California, Santa Barbara Ph.D. (Astronomy), 1984, California Institute of Technology. I am involved primarily in observational studies at optical, ultraviolet, and near-infrared wavelengths.
Dr. Craig Montell received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1978, and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1983. He returned to UC Berkeley in 1984 as a Damon Runyon postdoctoral fellow.
