The four saxophonist in this quartet are well respected in their own right: Julius Hemphill (alto), Oliver Lake (alto), David Murray (tenor) and Hamiet Bluiett (baritone). Each of them pursues the Avant-Garde and Free-Jazz as a leader, so you might expect this recording to be a tad on the crazy side. In that respect you will be let down.
