The Northeast Kingdom is an album by the American musician Cheri Knight, released in 1998. It was Knight's second solo album. Knight supported the album with a North American tour.
1 de ene. de 1998 · Knight pulls out all the stops, employing her former Blood Oranges bandmates Mark Spencer (guitars, shakers) and Jimmy Ryan (mandolin) while also calling upon the talents of co-producers Steve Earle and Ray Kennedy, drummer Will Rigby, bassist Garry Tallent, fiddler Tammy Rogers, and even backup vocals from Emmylou herself.
The Northeast Kingdom (1998) was produced by the Twangtrust (Steve Earle and Ray Kennedy) and released on E-Squared Records. Musicians include Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris (vocals), Tammy Rogers (fiddle), Jimmy Ryan (mandolin), Mark Spencer (guitar), and Will Rigby (drums).

It showcased Knight’s growing confidence as a singer and writer, staking out a distinctive musical terrain.
Will Rigby drums — born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina — Will's first gig as a Duke was FarmAid '99, he recorded with Steve on Transcendental Blues, Jerusalem, Open Your Window (included on Sidetracks), and several tribute album cuts — touring with Steve in 2000-2003.
