The 7th Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (generally known as the AACTA Awards) took place on 6 December 2017. THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI led the evening, taking home three awards including: Best Film, Best Screenplay for writer-director Martin McDonagh and Best Supporting Actor for Sam Rockwell. First-time AACTA nominee Margot Robbie received the AACTA International Award for Best Lead Actress for I, TONYA.
Winners will be announced across the two major 7th AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel events at The Star Event Centre in Sydney: the Industry Luncheon on Monday 4 December; and the AACTA Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 6 December. Tickets to both events are on sale now.
AACTA has today announced the nominees for the 7th AACTA International Awards. A total of 15 films have received nominations this year, with CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, LADY BIRD and THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI leading the way with five nominations each.
