The group had three big hits: "Simon Says", "1,2,3, Red Light" and "Indian Giver". As you can see from these song titles, most of the Fruitgums hits were based on children's games and sayings.

The band began as Jeckell and The Hydes in New Jersey in 1966.
1910 FRUITGUM COMPANY-GOLDEN CLASSICS: Buddah Records' and Kasenetz-Katz' Super K Productions' two biggest Bubblegum acts were Ohio Express (of Yummy Yummy Yummy reknown) and 1910 Fruitgum Company. Unlike the former, the latter was an actual flesh and blood band, not one hastily assembled to recreate studio musicians' parts at live shows.
