Located in the Riverside and Avondale neighborhood, it is the second oldest high school in Jacksonville operating at its original location, after its traditional rival, Andrew Jackson High School. The name was changed to Riverside High School in 2021.
We believe at Riverside High School that every student holds qualities of excellence. Students are challenged with showing that excellence at Riverside High School. We expect excellence to be visible every day in the classroom, as well as through participation in athletics, clubs, or extracurricular activities.
Founded in 1927, Riverside was the first high school in Duval County to offer early college credit. We continue to make historic gains in helping students reach their potential. Whether the next step is college, military service, or a career, Riverside is a bastion of preparation and support.
