Terry Gilkyson (June 17, 1916 – October 15, 1999) was an American folk singer and songwriter. Biography. Gilkyson was born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, and graduated from St. George's School in Middletown, Rhode Island in 1935.

The Easy Riders were an American folk music band, that operated from 1956 to 1959, consisting of Terry Gilkyson, Richard Dehr, and Frank Miller. Their career was guided by Mitch Miller, who had them under contract for Columbia Records. Their greatest hit, in early 1957, was the song "Marianne".
"Terry" Gilkyson, singer and songwriter, wrote several of the biggest hit records of the early 1950s. His "Memories are Made of This" became both a number one song for Dean Martin in 1956 and a clever catchphrase for the nostalgia boom.

Terry Gilkyson was an actor and composer, best known for his songs in Disney's The Jungle Book (1967). He was also the father of folk singer Eliza Gilkyson and a member of the Easy Riders.
