7 de dic. de 2019 · Stella Barker, Sarah-Jane Owen, Miranda Joyce, Penny Leyton, and Judy Parsons formed a new group, The Belle Stars and recruited Lesley Shone and Jenny Matthais for good measure, performing (without a name) for the first time on Christmas Day 1980!
After the all-female two-tone band The Bodysnatchers broke up in 1980, guitarists Stella Barker and Sarah-Jane Owen, saxophonist Miranda Joyce, keyboardist Penny Leyton, and drummer Judy Parsons decided to form a new band, recruiting bass player Lesley Shone and lead vocalist Jennie Matthias (also known as Jennie Bellestar).
12 de ago. de 2023 · I did discover that a Lesley Shone runs a music PR business in London and I’m wondering if she’s a wandering Belle Star? So, that’s what happened to them, or as far as I can ascertain anyway. The question is what would have happened if they’d had the success, and chart hits, that their talents deserved.

17 de may. de 2024 · Jennie Matthias toured the U.S. to promote the song. In 2002 Lesley Shone and Jennie Matthias joined the Here & Now Christmas Party as the Belle Stars to perform three of their biggest hits, ‘The Clapping Song’, ‘Iko Iko’ and ‘Sign Of The Times’, joining Kim Wilde and others.
