Equal Interest is an album by Equal Interest, a collaborative project by saxophonist Joseph Jarman, pianist Myra Melford and violinist Leroy Jenkins, which was recorded in 1999 and released on the OmniTone label.

Violinist Leroy Jenkins is continually inventing his own language in music. He combines an extraordinary variety of sounds associated with the Black music tradition with European styles, interweaving jazz and classical vocabularies.
The three musicians are Joseph Jarman, Leroy Jenkins and Myra Melford. And the instruments of choice include a Turkish hand drum, a Vietnamese oboe, wind chimes, a viola and a harmonium. “Harmonium?” voices echo.
